Chitra Kalyandurg

Chitra Kalyandurg is a Kuchipudi performer and choreographer based in Washington, D.C. She trained and performed with Kalanidhi Dance for over two decades under her guru Anuradha Nehru and served as assistant choreographer from 2017-2019.

Chitra's notable works include Bhoomi for the Kennedy Center’s Local Dance Commissioning Project and her original productions, The Nayika Project and Leela: Play of the Divine. She has received multiple grants from the Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County, Maryland, and was awarded the Princess Grace Dance Honoraria. In addition to her dance career, Chitra is a policy analyst with the Montgomery County, Maryland Office of Legislative Oversight.
